Did you know? A driver who is too hot loses 20% of their reaction capacity.

However, in racing (Rally, Circuit...), replacing glass windows with Lexan often eliminates the factory opening system. The adjustable cockpit air vent then becomes a vital component to ensure thermal comfort for the driver and/or co-driver.

Designed to provide maximum airflow, this adjustable vent forces fresh air directly toward the driver. It delivers not only cooling but also essential oxygenation, anywhere in the world, with an accessory designed for minimal impact on aerodynamic drag.

On a Porsche Cup, paired with Extrem Motorsport quarter window spacers (single or double), you will remain at the peak of your performance, even during long stints, thanks to fully effective natural ventilation.

Performance and durability: An adjustable cockpit air vent designed for racing

This accessory is used in international racing series for its reliability and ease of adjustment based on track conditions. This kit of 2 air vents with different openings is essential both for heat regulation and for renewing oxygen within the cockpit through passive ventilation.

  • High-Resistance Material:
    Engineered to withstand the demanding stresses of circuit and rally racing, it handles mechanical loads and temperature variations without cracking or becoming brittle.
  • Modulable Airflow:
    The central swiveling flap allows you to direct air precisely toward the driver or co-driver.
    A simple rotation adjusts the direction of the airflow.
  • Triple Position:
    - Forward-facing open position: For forced air induction into the cockpit.
    - Rearward-facing open position: For extracting hot air from the cabin.
    - Closed position: Provides a barrier against rain and debris during dusty stages or storage.

Precision Dimensions:

  • A simple hole saw cut of Ø83 mm (for a perfect fit and marginal aerodynamic drag) is all it takes to install the vent on your race car's Lexan window.

Kit includes 2 different air vents:

  • Single-opening vent: To be positioned opposite the driver. It can be opened or closed by the pit crew.
  • Variable-adjustment vent: To be positioned on the driver's side. This allows the driver to easily adjust the airflow according to their needs, or even close it completely in case of heavy rain.

Installation Guide: Lexan Window Cockpit Air Vent

Switching to Lexan windows offers significant weight savings but often eliminates the ability to open the windows. This air vent is the simplest and lightest solution (only a few grams) to maintain a manageable cockpit environment for the driver. A crucial detail that prevents heat-related performance loss and windshield fogging.

  • Preparation:
    Use an 83 mm diameter hole saw and make a clean cut by applying moderate pressure to the Lexan.
    Deburr the edges of the hole for a smooth finish.
  • Installation:
    Slightly squeeze the sides of the air vent and insert it into the 83 mm opening on the window.
    Adjust the orientation and airflow to your preference.
