As soon as the track surface cools down, getting your tyres up to temperature takes time. Driving on cold tyres with the wrong pressure means risking a spin, losing precious track time, and above all, suffering premature wear across all four treads.

The kart tyre warmer system is THE technical solution for winter or early morning practice days. By heating the rims (aluminium or magnesium), you create a thermal reservoir that diffuses a gentle, constant, and long-lasting heat to your tyres, ensuring excellent grip right from the very first corner.
Another major benefit is that your hot tyre pressures are perfectly adjusted.
It is the ultimate and cost-effective solution to drive efficiently without sacrificing the longevity of your tyre sets.
Competition regulations prohibit tyre warmers during races, but nothing stops you from saving money during practice!

Why heat the rim instead of the tyre?

The Extrem Motorsport kart tyre warmer system saves your tyres and helps you get into the rhythm much faster. If you only heat the tyre surface, it lacks thermal inertia and cools down way too quickly upon contact with the track, making it far less effective.

Our system is specifically optimized for the DEXTER heat gun (model HG-DP2000) available at Leroy Merlin) to ensure a perfect fit, maximum efficiency, and low cost.

  • Thermal Inertia:
    Unlike surface-tread heating, the CJK-970 kart tyre warmer system allows magnesium or aluminium rims to naturally accumulate heat. They then slowly release this heat back into the tyre structure, warming it evenly from the inside out. The Extrem Motorsport tyre warmer kit also provides peace of mind while waiting on the grid before your session.
  • Tyre Savings:
    Prevent cold tearing and graining caused by driving on cold tyres with incorrect pressures. Significantly extend the lifespan of your tyre sets.
  • Safety:
    Get right into the pace as soon as you leave the pits. Avoid off-track excursions and potential crashes due to a lack of grip during the opening laps.
  • Optimized Design:
    The hot air flow is carefully controlled to deliver maximum thermal efficiency with zero risk of damage to your rims.

MODE D'EMPLOI

Using the kart tyre warmer

Our kart tyre warmer system is designed for quick and easy setup:

  • Preparation:
    Remove the valve caps from your tyres.
  • Installation:
    Fit the retaining strap and adjust it to hold the yellow collector system tight against the rim edge (compatible with both front and rear wheel assemblies).
  • Optimization:
    For maximum efficiency on the rear axle, we recommend sealing the other side of the rim using our dedicated kart rear rim plugs (available separately). This creates a thermal bubble, heating both wheels simultaneously through the axle shaft.
  • Heating up:
    Set your heat gun to maximum power. Monitor the progressive temperature rise of both the rim and the tyre. Repeat the process on each wheel as needed.
  • Adjust the pressure:
    At the right tyre temperature, you hit the track with ideal pressure right from the first corner.

Depending on the ambient temperature, heat for about 5 minutes; this is enough for your kart rim to accumulate enough heat energy and transfer it to the tyre.
Head out onto the track as quickly as possible to enjoy optimal grip from the very first metres.
