Helmet Interface for High-Performance Driver Hydration

The KDC-400 driver hydration system is much more than a simple drink kit. It combines a quick-connect interface with unmatched ergonomics, providing simple and highly efficient access to fluids. Every single detail is tailored for motorsport, engineered to withstand the extreme demands of racing, whether in WEC, GT, or Rally-Raid, as well as for Gentleman Drivers during intense races or track days.

This kit centralizes and secures your hydration lines and optional radio comms into a single, seamless system mounted right on your helmet.
Unlike other solutions on the market, this driver drink system is manufactured from High-Density ABS using an industrial 3D printing process (Stratasys), ensuring premium, professional-grade product quality.
The unique design of the plug eliminates any destructive leverage on the connectors, guaranteeing long-term reliability and absolute speed during driver changes or stints in endurance racing.
Finally, the bite valve benefits from advanced ergonomics with a custom angled design specifically engineered by Extrem Motorsport, guaranteeing a perfect mouth grip despite the helmet.

  • Centralized Flow Management:
The technical "plug" features a leak-proof water coupling and robustly guides your radio connector.
  • Ease of Use:
The overall ergonomics are designed for seamless integration with the helmet, facilitating instant, effortless, and reliable access to your drink while minimizing onboard volume.
  • Efficiency:
The bright yellow color is perfectly visible day and night (and highly noticeable under UV lighting). A gentleman driver or driver Assist won't have to guess what action to take, preventing the driver from accidentally exiting the cockpit while still attached by the helmet.
  • Neutrality and Safety:
Used alongside our Extrem Drink standalone mount, this system guarantees a clean beverage with no bad aftertaste, especially in cockpits subject to extreme heat.
  • High Reliability:
Thoughtful details and a dependable mechanism designed to eliminate any risk of operational failure, maximizing driver hydration and on-track performance.

Technical Specifications of the Driver Hydration System

The Extrem Drink helmet kit for racing drivers is an indispensable piece of precision engineering for drivers and teams seeking performance and durability. Each component is robust and has been successfully field-tested for over 2 years in grueling sand raids and 24-hour endurance races.

  • Materials:
    Professional-grade High-Density ABS.
  • Design:
180° guide to prevent hose vibrations and ensure a secure, consistent feel for the driver. A truly unique assembly in both its design and technical approach.
  • Weight:
100g (excluding radio cable); an optimized assembly engineered to eliminate any discomfort or interference on the driver’s helmet.

Kit Contents:

  • 1 high-resistance yellow helmet "plug" with dedicated Drink and radio slots
  • 1 leak-proof water coupling
  • 1 hose connection set (Ø9mm and Ø6mm)
  • 1 custom angled ergonomic bite valve
  • 1 180° hose interface guide
  • 1 set of radio cable helmet retainers
  • 1 set of hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro)

Installation and maintenance of your helmet equipment

For total efficiency of your driver hydration system, read these installation recommendations and adapt them to your helmet type.

  • Insert and adjust your radio jack inside the yellow plug:
Wrap the radio cable around the drink hose up to the 180° guide to ensure clean management of the connections.
Lock the cable onto the loop of the 180° guide.
The radio jack should ideally be positioned to ensure a perfect radio connection, with the leak-proof drink coupling set up on the "car" plug.
  • Radio cable on the helmet:
Plug the radio jack directly into your helmet.
Stick the 3 cable retainers to the rear base of the helmet to secure the radio cable on the helmet without causing discomfort to the driver, especially with the Hans system.
At this stage, it will be necessary to adjust the wrapping length of the radio cable around the drink hose to balance the setup.
  • Positioning of the 180° guide:
This guide prevents the driver from feeling the vibrations and tensions of the hose attached to the cockpit plug.
Install the hook-and-loop (Velcro) support of the 180° guide at the ideal location on the helmet, without interaction with the Hans or the door, and firmly secure the guide to the helmet.
  • Fixing the standby "plug" on the helmet:
Install the hook-and-loop (Velcro) support at the ideal location for the driver and the Driver Assist.
It is highly recommended to position the yellow plug on the side of the helmet rather than on top. This strategic location makes it easier for the driver to settle into the cockpit and prevents any risk of catching on the roll bar or the narrow door frame.
  • Customizing the suction:
Position the suction tube with its bite valve (fixed elbow on the hose) according to the driver's morphology and preferences (via the front grille, the empty radio plug slot, hose kept flush with the provided guide, etc.).
To adjust the length of the small-diameter hose, it is necessary to cut the 2 rilsan ties (zip ties) of the 180° guide and pull out the nested hoses to adjust the length as required.
The hose guide provided in the kit should be positioned between the foam and the helmet shell at the best spot to keep the hose perfectly flush. Generally, a hook-and-loop fastener is already present there; if not, add it.
  • Adjusting the nipple on the bite valve:
Positioning the hose on the right or left requires adjusting the positioning angle of the blue nipple for a perfect grip. Simply rotating it is enough.

Final validation: Once the assembly is complete, it is imperative to perform a compliance test (hydration and radio communication) directly on board the race vehicle to validate the ergonomics and overall compliance (drink + radio) before driving.
